Things To Know Before You Purchase Garden Storage Sheds

Garden Storage sheds can have many uses. They can store your gardening tools, camp equipment, bicycles or just basically stuff you don’t use often. Or they can be used as a shelter for potting plants, or a work space. Storage sheds come in many styles and sizes depending on the required need.

Adding finer details such as trim, doors, windows and shingles can really transform an ordinary shed into a beautiful structure. Even a simple storage shed can look stunning with some custom features.

Your structure will largely be determined by the function and use of the shed. Will you mainly be using it for storage, or a work place? Maybe you want a combination of storage and work space. Look for a combination of the correct design and size for the perfect fit.

Size is probably the most important factor. Find out what your property can accommodate. Make a note of what you will be storing inside, such as deck furniture, bbq, bicycles etc. If you plan on using it as a workspace, make sure to leave enough room to move around freely. You will also need lighting. The location of this is important depending on your main work station. A window can be a good addition letting in extra light but sometimes it can also let in too much heat.

The basic shed shapes are gable, lean to, gambrel, saltbox and hip. A gable shed has a triangle roof. Gambrel shed has a roof with two sloped sides on each side. A lean to shed consists of a single sloping roof. A hip shed has a roof that slopes down in four directions from the top.
